Taek, one of our co-founders, came to Melbourne, Australia two decades ago to pursue his studies. Since then, he has been working and living in Melbourne, immersing himself in the city's vibrant multicultural atmosphere. During his time there, Taek witnessed the growing popularity of K-pop, K-drama and the challenges faced by young enthusiasts in accessing Korean cultural products. Inspired by the passion of K-pop, K-drama fans, Taek embarked on the journey of creating KoreaCrate to bring Korean culture closer to people worldwide.

Jay, our other co-founder and based in Korea, has been a close friend of Taek for a long time. Together, they share a deep passion for Korean culture and have always dreamed of making it more accessible to a global audience. Jay brings his unwavering confidence and attention to detail to the partnership. With his expertise in curating and managing businesses, Jay plays a crucial role in sourcing the finest Korean snacks, K-pop, K-drama Merch and overseeing the operations of KoreaCrate, ensuring that every customer receives an authentic and enjoyable experience.
